FeaturedF.A.Q.

  • Q: What does WiiCade have to do with the Wii?

A: All of the games on WiiCade can be played using a Nintendo Wii Remote. Simply visit the site using the Wii's internet browser and the Wii Remote cursor will replace the mouse cursor within the Flash game.
  • Q: Is WiiCade a Nintendo property?

A: No. While the Wii is a Nintendo product, WiiCade is not endorsed by Nintendo and is entirely fan made and run.
  • Q: How do I get my game on WiiCade?

A: Look for the Upload link on the sidebar. Read our terms of submission, fill out a few simple details, and you'll be ready to go. Be sure to check out our APIs for some extra functionality.
  • Q: What is the WiiCade API?

A: The WiiCade API's are plugins that allow you to use functions on the Wii Remote (Tilt, Zoom, Buttons) not originally available. Please look at the Labs page for more information.
  • Q: Can I edit my game once it's been submitted?

Yes you can! In your user profile, you will see a small edit link under all your currently uploaded games and sandbox games. Click on the edit link, make any desired changes, and click save.
  • Q: Are there any special requirements for a game on WiiCade?

A: The short answer is that it must be published for Flash 7 or lower and cannot have any important keyboard functionality unless the Wii Remote API is used. Please read our terms of submission for more details.
  • Q: What is a "Probation" game?

A: When a game is submitted to WiiCade, it must go through a "Probation" period of 1 week. If the game has a score of at least 2.5 at the end of this period, it will be added to the site's content. Otherwise it will be deleted
  • Q: Will I ever have to pay to use WiiCade?

A: WiiCade is not and will never be a pay-account site. Once the Nintendo Wii's free Opera trial ends, you'll have to pay to continue using the browser, but that's outside of our power.
  • Q: Are the games on this site developed by WiiCade staff?

A: Most of the games on WiiCade are generously provided by authors all over the internet. WiiCade does, however, have a couple of in-house Flash developers constantly working on new WiiCade-brand games.
  • Q: What do I do if I see a game that doesn't work on the Wii, has necessary keyboard controls, or otherwise violates one of WiiCade's terms of submission?

A: There is a button situated in the game detail page that is Red and has a small Exclamation point in it, that is the Report button. You may click on that and it will take you to a forum that once completed will be emailed directly to the WiiCade staff.
